1.5TB storage Joined: Thu Jul 03, 2008 2:00 am Posts: 96 Thanks: v Thanked: 6 times in 6 posts	After installing my WHS 2011 server, I decided to connect a figurer (laptop) to information technology to check the backups completed OK etc. And so, connected to my WHS 2011 server ( http://WHS2011:/Connect ), and started the installation. During the setup, I had to plough off the machine-logon on my laptop and change the calculator proper noun to every bit the install didn't like underscores (_) in the computer name !! This of course meant a re-kick BEFORE I could run the install once more. The installation and then failed saying that "The WHS 2011 Connector has encountered an unexpected error" ! Anyone else had like issues, and found a fix ??

Upgrade went fine since information technology was a brand new server. I also had bug installing the connector. I checked the date and time to brand sure it was the aforementioned on both server and client computer. Later a few attempts and searching the internet, I constitute this on Microosft website: Find My Server Sorcerer to aid install the connector for WHS 2011. I don't know why, but it has installed after running that application. All the FindMyServer does is to find my server, and connect to information technology so every bit to download the connect software. I've already done that. Thanks anyway.

I had the aforementioned issue, please endeavor to: get-go manually (if you get an error bulletin regarding installation of connector software) "Windows Media Eye Receiver Service" and "Windows Media Eye Scheduler Service". besides accept a look on: viewtopic.php?f=33&t=10784 I experienced some more issue as described in above post and besides switched dorsum to WHSv1. It would be not bad when MS tin fix those problems in WHS2011, but in the meanttime i think the best way for me (usa) is to keep WHSv1 running. Kind regards! Markus

I've tried using a fresh install of WHS 2011 on an EX470 with 2GB Ram and a 64-bit AMD processor. The clients were Win7 64-chip Ultimate and Win7 64-bit Professional person - same error on both. I dropped back to WHS v1 until Microsoft sorts out their connector issues. Hopefully information technology will be before long. John

I was finally able to resolve and and then I thought I would share my solution as it doesn't seem anyone has talked any about this as a possible solution. I promise this might be of help for some of yous, every bit it was a really frustrating consequence for me every bit well. For me the result was the Internet Framework iv. The WHS 2011 Connector software states at the beginning of the installation that it will install this software if not found on your machine, but it appears it does not validate the Net Framwork 4 software is properly installed. Before installing the WHS 2011 Connector software, I went to the Microsoft site: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/de ... x?id=17718 Downloaded the Net Framework four software and ran it. Information technology detected that I already had Net four Framework installed and asked if I wanted to repair, which I said yeah. Once done, I was able to install the 2011 WHS Connector software without effect. Best of luck, inouridr

I've posted the solution here: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=11445 It seems in that location are a number of 'sensitivities' that connector software has. Mive was related to a services that was turned off (past the Information technology gorup at work - they provided the image I was using on the client). I hope this helps equally well. JJ

Joined: Wed Nov xxx, 2011 iv:32 am Posts: 3 Thanks: 0 Thanked: 0 time in 0 post	Hi, Got the same trouble and solved it like this (I do not know which step did actually piece of work) 1) Removed the auto from my old WHS v1 Server two) Disabled ipv6 on the new WHS 2011 server three) Manually changed the domain/workgroup of the customer to the new servers one (Information technology defaulted to Workgroup where my old server used MSHOME) I believe the final step finally did information technology (merely step 1 is a prerequisite accoring to MS) Wim
